Simon Colabufalo is an Australian Industrial designer based in the creative capital of Melbourne. He holds a Bachelor of Design (Industrial Design) with Honours and is a Member of Design Institute of Australia. As a multi-faceted designer, his work includes a wide spectrum of materials and processes, and embodies minimalistic yet functional designs.
His aesthetic continually evolves allowing him to explore different materials, with an emphasis on sustainability, such as wood, aluminum, bioplastics and cork, while engaging different processes, ranging from traditional woodwork techniques, to contemporary Hi-tec CNC/ 3d printing technologies.
Simon's industry experience includes projects at Holden Special Vehicles (HSV), BMW and Bugatti. Having lived and worked in both Australia and Germany, he has gained extensive experience with human-centered design, professional development and implementation of strategies. This has helped him develop a unique understanding of innovative design.
His work has been published in several magazines worldwide and have won numerous awards.
